The summer is finally over in Dubai and everyone’s thoughts immediately turn to the great outdoors and the plethora of events that Dubai puts on. Grace and Garbo Communications entertainment team has been busy signing on for the Mixtape Rewind event in January 2014 which will see artists such as Dr.Alban, Boney M and Snap reprise hits from their back catalogues. We worked with the same organisation for their 2013 event and we are sure this will be as big a success.
The Grace and Garbo Communications fashion team has been busy attending new collection shows by clients Salma Khan and KhawlaWRoadha. The former is a well established fashion label in Dubai while KhawlaWRoadha are the Emirati sister design duo who presented their third collection “Adrenaline”. Our fashion team has also been busy assisting with Dubai boutique O-Concept Store who are currently holding a sale extravaganza at their store in Jumeirah 1. With discounts of up to 80% available in-store we are sure this will be a very well attended event in the October calendar.
The glamour pusses at Grace and Garbo were delighted when we announced the signing of Gemoro Jewellery in September 2013. A bespoke jewellery store based in the Ocean View Hotel, JBR, Dubai, Gemoro offers a wide selection of off the shelf precious stones and gold jewellery. In addition to this they also offer a VIP home service and make distinctive, bespoke pieces to order. Many of the designs originate in Italy but the jewellery itself is made right here in Dubai. Gemoro Jewellery already hosted an Eid exhibition and they will be putting on a Diwali event on the 26th October. If you like diamonds (who doesn’t) precious stones and gold we suggest you check it out.
Our friends over at Light House Studio will be holding a “TimeLapse” workshop in October. This full day workshop is all you need to understand the fundamentals of shooting timelapse. Join Joe Louw from TimeLapse South Africa and learn more about timelapse equipment, how to calculate your settings and the secrets behind flicker and how to avoid it.
The Grace and Garbo CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) team will be busy in October with a global meeting of BGIA (Black Girls Ignite Africa). Grace and Garbo’s founder, owner, and driving force, Rahma Himid supports their activity from her Dubai base and is looking forward to this global gathering.
On the personnel front we were delighted to see Jinith back in the office after her wedding and we wish her all the best for the future. The Grace and Garbo Communications office has become progressively busier over the last few weeks with new additions to our team. Our new starters will be the subject of a future blog, where we highlight our new eleganceers.
To round off our early October review Grace and Garbo has been busy signing up ITP and we look forward to providing PR services for the Arab Women Awards.
October is already proving to be an extremely busy month, but after the slow pace of summer everyone in the Grace and Garbo offices is excited for the challenges that lie ahead.
Until next time, stay elegant.
